The curtain has risen and our latest production, Marriott Momi Bay Resort and Spa, is kicking up its heels.
It opened to great excitement as Fiji’s first resort featuring overwater bures and tourism professionals are excited to be able to promote such a unique offering to the Fiji tourism market.
The resort is on the West coast of Vitu Levi, a thirty minute drive south of the airport at Nandi. Guests can literally dive from their beds into a sparkling turquoise lagoon!
CHADA was commissioned to design the entire hotel including: four restaurants, all-day dining, a seafood restaurant, pool bar and grill and Asian Pacific restaurant, all of which sits around an extensive man-made lagoon.
The project first start in 2008 but then faltered and the site remained dormant until 2012 when CHADA was re-commissioned by the Fiji National Provident Fund to resume work.
The tropical climate inspired a relaxed chic resort design with a series of semi-open cabanas that create a seamless design language between the interiors and architecture. The natural, warm materials, inspired by local crafts give the resort a strong sense of place.
