Our client, William Inglis, the famous thoroughbred horse sales company, has said a sad farewell to beautiful and historic Newmarket, in the heart of Randwick, Sydney, where the Inglis team has carried out their business for generations. They’re on the move and will soon have a very smart new home, which we’re designing on their behalf, at Warwick Farm Racecourse just down the M5 motorway.
The 180-room Inglis Hotel, which will be operated under Accor’s cool M Galley brand will also serve as their sales centre for the 32 days of the year that the famous horse auctions take place. During those times the extra accommodation for 850 horses will be a full house.
It’s quite site to see the stables being built in the lee of the nine-storey hotel. Nothing quite like it exists in the world.
